Week 11

Well the last week has been extremely busy. My older sister Shirley got married on Saturday. It was a beautiful wedding and it was great to see so much family. I really thought my dress would not fit, but due to a small miracle, it did. There was a more pronounced baby bump than I had expected. When I find a really good picture I'll post it here for everyone to see.

The baby bump appears to be making it's appearance slowly but surely. At this point it really depends on the outfit I'm wearing, but, when you look closely and the clothes are tight, you can definitely see it (at least thats what I tell Steve everyday.. haha). Everyday after I am done getting ready I point out the bump (and I also enjoy pointing it out at other random points in the day). He was very excited for me the first time, but now I think he is more entertained by my excitement, than by the fact that there is a small bump. I never thought I would excited about getting bigger, but in this case, I definitely am.

The most common question I still get is, how are you feeling? I have good days and bad days. Today is a good day. I have only been really sick about 3 times. I am still tired, but I have been sleeping better the last few nights. I am very thankful to God everytime I sleep through the night. Up until this week, almost every night I woke up in the middle night at least once.

I hope to have pictures of the bump posted soon.

Week 10

This Saturday marked ten weeks! I thought today I (Jen) would do a frequently asked questions:

1. How are you feeling? It changes on a day by day, moment by moment basis. Last week I had a few really good days, but then the nausea returned. The last 48 hours have been more difficult. I often feel ill before I eat which makes it difficult, but I just keep eating and drinking water.

2. Have you had any cravings? Yes - Macaroni and Cheese and Cinnamon Rolls.. neither of which have much nutritional value (maybe some calcium.. but a lot of fat). I also love a good bowl of milk and cereal.. its my go to food item.

3. Have you been really sick or just not feeling great? I've only been really "sick" once.

4. Do you want a boy or a girl? We want healthy! - But honestly, I see advantages and good things about both. I think Steve would love to have a boy to play sports with and do all those fun guy things. I also think a girl is fun to do girlie things with. We both want both eventually, so we are happy with whichever God gives us first.

5. Do you want to know the gender before giving birth? Steve's answer: YES!

6. When do you find out if its a boy or girl? We should find out around 20 weeks, which is when they do the next ultrasound.

The main symptom I've had is exhaustion. I have less energy, and when I do too much I get nausea.. its a challenging balance.

If you have a question post it in comments and Steve or I will answer.

Welcome

Welcome to our blog! First off, I have to admit that I stole this idea from a good friend. We have many family and friends who do not live near us and I wanted to start this blog to keep them informed and updated as our family grows. For those that need a quick update here are the beginning facts:

The Lord has blessed us with a pregnancy which was confirmed at our first doctor's appointment/ultrasound on 4/12/11.

As of 4/12/11 - 9weeks, 3days pregnant. At the first ultrasound we heard the heartbeat and I (Jen) cried tears of joy.. the first of many I'm sure I will cry for this new life that God has blessed us with. We were able to get a DVD and some pictures!

Symptoms I've had - you name it I've had it (nausea, vomiting, indegestion.. the list goes on!)

Our next ultrasound will be around 20 weeks, which will be sometime at the end of June or early July. At this appointment we plan to find out the gender!

Steve and I are thrilled that God has chosen to bless us with a child! The Lord has been good to us, and we are truely overwhelmed by the blessing.

Jen's new phrase: "There's a baby.. and it has a hearbeat!!"
